Nutrition has significant implications in one's weight, overall well-being and risk for disease. According to the National Institutes of Health's Weight Control Information Network, weight is determined by several factors including biological and genetic factors, and environmental factors, which include exercise and nutrition. Essentially, nutrition is half of the environmental equation, which is what people have control over. Without adequate nutrition, you will be unable to get the results you are working so hard for!
Milk does the body good, post-workout
The USDA recommends that all Americans get at least 3 servings of low fat dairy, such as milk, every day. Milk provides protein, sugar and vitamins and minerals. However, experts are now recommending that milk be consumed after a workout to enhance recovery. A new study done by researchers at James Madison University shows that low fat chocolate milk is more effective than high-carbohydrate beverages post-workout.
