I’m delighted to introduce the new ‘back stage’ segment of our newsletter, designed to keep you updated on some of the day-to-day running of your club and inform you of some of the backstage procedures we under take to make your membership as enjoyable as possible. I’m looking forward to contributing to this each month but if you have any feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me on clubmanager@iconhealthclub.ie or in the club.

We are always listening

Due to your feedback we have invested in a new AB/ADDUCTOR MACHINE!

The hip abduction and adduction is a machine that undergoes a slight modification to work the adductor muscle groups on your inner thighs and the abductor muscle groups on the outside of your hips. To work the abductors, place your legs inside the pads and press outward against them, working against the resistance. Adjust the machine as necessary and position your legs on the outside of the pads. Press into the pads to draw your legs together to work your adductor muscles.

In addition, we have also invested in some new equipment for our Kettlex & Bootcamp classes. We are confident that the new TRX RIP resistance cord is a new class tool that will strengthen your core and increase your cardiovascular endurance. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Our Team

Having completed a 4 year Sports Science Degree from University of Limerick I know the importance of hiring instructors who have recognised and reputable qualifications. Unfortunately, this is not always the case within the fitness industry but we ensure that all our personal trainers are REP’s registered. This way I can be confident that our members are getting the best advice and support to truly achieve safe and effective training programmes and results!

We only employ exercise professionals when they fulfil 4 key criteria:

  1.  Achieve qualifications and awards that meet industry standards & have been independently Quality Assured
  2. Maintain professional standing by ongoing CPD
  3. Maintain appropriate insurance cover
  4. Adhere to a code of ethical practice

The industry standards used by REPs Ireland are based upon the European standards developed by the European Health & Fitness Association (EHFA).
REPs Ireland operates independently of all Education Providers and facilities.
All approved REPs Ireland Education Providers are independently audited and adhere to an agreed code of Ethical Practice

New Year, Spring Clean.

Both the male and female lockers rooms underwent a thorough deep clean overnight in January by a team of cleaning experts using a variety of specialized tools. We hope you agree that this has made a huge difference to the standards of the changing areas. We are dedicated to maintaining our high standards by committing to carry out this operation on a bi-annual basis. Our club care team including Briseida, Hitesh, George & Green, do a fantastic job on a day to day basis. Investing in a regular Deep Clean along with our daily club care maintenance keeps our Hygiene levels at Gold standard in accordance with Ireland Active.

Watch out for my monthly ‘Back Stage’ updates via our newsletter.  In the meantime, I look forward to seeing you around the gym and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need any assistance.

Yours in health & fitness,

Cian Doyle
